Let’s Talk About the 2000W Carbon Fiber Drying Lamp

We built these 800mm carbon fiber heating elements for those tough industrial drying jobs where you can’t afford to wait around. If you need heat that hits hard and fast, this is it. The cool part? Unlike those old-school metal coils, carbon fiber doesn’t need to get scorching hot to do its job. It pushes out a ton of far-infrared radiation, which is exactly what you want for a deep, efficient dry. Power and Size Packing 2000W into an 800mm length creates a serious amount of heat. We did this on purpose. It means the heat actually penetrates deep into your materials instead of just skimming the surface. You get a nice, even glow across the whole length. Just a heads-up: make sure your power supply can handle the initial surge when you first flip the switch. It’s a bit of a kick. The Tech Side of Things We went with the SK15 connector here. It locks in tight and keeps the electrical connection stable, so you don’t have to worry about annoying arcs at the terminals. The filament itself sits inside a high-purity quartz tube. It ramps up to temperature way faster than a ceramic heater ever could. And because carbon fiber doesn’t expand and shrink as much as tungsten does, these filaments aren’t nearly as likely to snap when you’re turning them on and off all day. Getting it Set Up For most of you, these will be a simple drop-in replacement for your drying tunnels. You’ll notice your pre-heating times drop almost immediately. But there are a few things to watch out for. First, check your reflectors. If they’re dirty or pitted, you’re basically throwing away a huge chunk of that 2000W output. It’ll just hit the back wall of your machine instead of your product. Also, take a look at your wiring. If your cables are too thin, they’re going to overheat when these lamps are running full tilt. And please, give those SK15 sockets some breathing room. Without a bit of ventilation, the plastic housings can warp over time.
