
Engineering the 1:1 KTK Replacement
We built the M&R Reno flash heater lamp for one simple reason: to be a true drop-in for the original KTK infrared unit. No rewiring. No re-calibration. Just swap the bulb and get the press running again. It was designed to match the KTK machine’s electrical and thermal personality. Same voltage. Same power density. So the press’s control system sees the exact same feedback it always did. And the form factor? It’s an exact fit, so the lamp sits perfectly flush inside the housing. That means no alignment headaches and no uneven heating on your substrate.
Core Specs and Thermal Output
We matched the lamp’s power rating to the KTK press’s thermal demand. It runs on 400V, which is standard for industrial gear, and delivers the high current needed for that rapid heat-up. That high voltage also lets us keep the design compact while still putting out the required wattage. Tube length matters. A lot. So we made it the same as the original KTK lamp. That ensures the heat profile covers the entire printing area evenly—no hot spots, no cold spots. The wattage is tuned for fast flash curing, which means the lamp hits peak temperature almost instantly. But here’s the trade-off: that kind of heat density means you need to make sure the machine’s cooling fans are up to the task. They’ve got to manage the ambient temperature around the lamp.
Quartz Tube and R7s Connector Design
The lamp uses a high-purity quartz tube. It can handle the thermal shock of rapid on/off cycling without cracking, and it transmits infrared energy cleanly. Inside, the halogen capsule provides stable, focused heat. And the R7s connector? It’s a direct spec match. It’s a tough, two-pin ceramic base made for high-wattage industrial lamps. You slide it in and lock it down. No adapters, no fiddling. This design takes the mechanical stress off the wiring, so you don’t get connection failures from the vibration on the press.
Application: Running on the KTK Elliptical Press
In the real world, this means you can swap out a burnt-out KTK lamp with our M&R Reno unit and get right back to work. The 1:1 fit keeps everything aligned with the substrate path, and the infrared output cures inks and coatings on the fly, keeping production speed where it needs to be. For maintenance crews, this is all about cutting downtime. You don’t have to tear down the machine or re-engineer the heating zone.
