What makes it tick
Here’s the heart of it: raw power in a small package. We set it up for 400V, so we can pack a ton of wattage into a short length. A typical unit cranks out 2500W inside a 300mm tube. That kind of punch means you get a lot of heat in a very small zone, which is perfect when you’re trying to hit a target fast without turning the whole machine into a sauna. The O-shape design concentrates the heat where you point it. More energy lands on the part, less gets wasted. But—and this matters—that concentrated output means the lamp runs hot. So your airflow and mounting clearances have to be set up to handle that heat. Plan accordingly.
The materials that make it work
The heating element uses carbon fiber, and that brings two big wins: it heats up quickly and it can handle high temps. The fast response shortens warm-up time and keeps up with rapid cycling. The element sits inside a quartz envelope. Quartz is great at letting infrared energy through, and it doesn’t panic when temperatures swing. We fill the lamp with halogen gas to protect the element and keep output steady. That means consistent performance, cycle after cycle. For hookup, it uses an R7s connector—standard, double-ended, and easy to wire. Installation is a straight drop-in into compatible fixtures. No custom bracketing. No headache.
Where it shines
This setup was born for demanding line work—think PET blowing and other plastic processing steps where you need fast, controllable surface heating. The focused heat gets the target temperature up quickly, which can help you run at higher line speeds. The combo of carbon fiber, quartz, and halogen gives you stable output. But it also comes with a practical reality: mount and cool the lamp exactly as specified. Overheat the end caps and wiring, and you’re asking for trouble. Treat it like the high-output industrial tool it is. Not a general-purpose heater.
