Introduction
Let’s talk about the Heidelberg GTO. If you’re running one of these workhorses, you know the pressure. You’ve got a pressroom that never sleeps, with over 200 machines humming along. The last thing you need is a heat source that’s fussy or unreliable. We built our infrared lamp to be a direct, plug-and-play replacement for the GTO. No hassle. Just a component that wires up cleanly, hits the temperature you need, and then stays rock-solid stable, shift after shift.
The Power Behind the Performance
Here’s the thing about the GTO: it needs a lot of heat, but it doesn’t have a lot of space. So we pack a punch. Our 300mm tube runs at 2500W, delivering serious heat density right where you need it. The result? Your machine warms up fast and then holds that temperature with a steady hand on the plate. We also run it at 400V. Why? Because at the same wattage, it pulls less current than a 230V design. That means less stress on the wiring and cooler connections at the terminals. And the 300mm length? That’s not a random number. It’s a perfect match for the original lamp’s heating zone, so the thermal profile is identical. No need to tweak the reflector or mess with the mount.
What’s Inside? A Look at the Build
Inside the tube, it’s all about the halogen cycle, housed in a tough quartz envelope. This design is what keeps the lamp from getting that blackened look over time. It’s built to handle the constant on-and-off, and the output stays steady, no matter how many cycles it goes through. We also added a special coating to the quartz. It focuses the infrared energy into the right band, so more of the heat gets absorbed by the printing surface. Less wasted heat, better performance. And for the connection? It’s the R7s connector. It’s the right fit, rated for high temps, and gives you a solid, secure connection that matches the GTO socket perfectly. Seriously, it’s a straight swap. No adapters. No rewiring.
Built for the Realities of the Pressroom
In a GTO, downtime is money. When you need to swap a lamp, you need it done fast, and you need it to work perfectly from the first second. This lamp is built for that reality. It responds instantly and holds the temperature steady, so your setup is consistent, run after run. It can handle the thermal shock of starting and stopping without cracking. And the R7s connector? It eliminates the flickering and uneven heating that can come from a weak contact. Now, a heads-up: packing 2500W into a 300mm tube means this lamp runs hot. So make sure your GTO’s airflow and reflector are in good shape. If they aren’t, the cabinet will run hotter. Just something to keep in mind.
