If you’re still lugging around heavy steel or aluminum conduits, you know the struggle. They’re bulky, they’re a pain to install, and they just feel… old. That’s why we build our pipes from carbon fiber filaments locked into a polymer matrix (usually epoxy or PEEK). It’s all about getting that incredible strength without the back-breaking weight. How it actually works The magic is in how we wind the fibers. If you need raw strength along the length of the pipe, we go with unidirectional winding. If you’re dealing with twisting and torsional stress, we braid them. The result? You get a pipe that handles massive internal pressure but doesn’t take up half your workspace. Plus, it doesn’t warp or grow when things heat up. It just stays put. Toughness and the “Gotcha” Here’s the best part: this stuff doesn’t rust. Period. Whether you’re dealing with salt spray or nasty acids, CFRP just shrugs it off. We use PEEK matrices for the really hot industrial jobs—the kind of environments where stainless steel starts to pit and fail. But, there is one thing you have to watch out for. Carbon fiber can be a bit “aggressive” when it touches other metals. If you bolt these pipes directly to aluminum or steel without a barrier, the metal parts will corrode way faster than usual. It’s called galvanic corrosion, and it’s a headache. To avoid it, just stick to composite or coated fasteners. Easy. Fitting it into your setup Once you make the switch, you’ll notice your support structures can be way leaner. Smaller brackets, lighter hoisting gear, less swearing during installation. We design these to be drop-in replacements, as long as your end-fittings are tight. Just a heads-up: if your system shakes or vibrates a lot, tell us. Composites don’t “bend” the way metals do, so we’ll make sure the wall thickness is beefy enough to handle the fatigue.
